Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II / Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier quality oversight and continuous improvement across complex hardware and automation programs. This role focuses on supplier qualification, quality performance management, and hands‑on issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. The position works cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Review new supplier intake requests and perform supplier assessments, including online pre‑assessments and onsite audits.
  • Identify risks and gaps through supplier assessments and share findings with stakeholders in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
  • Drive supplier development by addressing gaps identified in assessments and ensuring suppliers are qualified prior to production scaling.
  • Provide support for part qualification through the Material Approval Process.
  • Take ownership of supplier product quality by reviewing failure data, performing root cause analysis, and initiating corrective actions internally and with suppliers as needed.
  • Develop and implement quality processes to improve traceability, supplier management, and non‑conformance management.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability in deployment environments.
Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience applying Supplier Quality and Quality Engineering principles, including: APQP, PPAP, DFX, and FMEA in new product introduction
  • Strong process improvement mindset in fast‑paced, agile environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in highly ambiguous environments and make informed decisions in real‑time
  • Hands‑on experience with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical quality issues
  • Strong experience in:
    • Hardware failure root cause analysis
    • Leading corrective and preventive actions
Nice To Have Skills
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical components used in robotics, such as:
    Actuated systems/robotic arms, control panels, motors, cables, PCBAs, metal fabrication, gears, bearings, sensors, vision systems
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor experience
  • Experience with statistical data analysis
  • Engineering program or project management experience
  • Multi‑industry experience (automotive, aerospace, medical devices, consumer electronics, consulting)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $47.50/hr.
