Aquatics Supervisor

Overview

This supervisory position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive aquatics program and providing operational oversight. Areas of assigned duties include day to day operations and management of aquatic facility, programs, rentals and special events for all age groups. Work is performed under the general direction of the Aquatics Facilities Manager.

• Assists the Parks and Recreation Manager in the development and administration of the aquatic facility operation plan.
• Coordinatesandmanagesallphasesofassignedoperationsprograms,events,and services.
• Assists in recruiting and hiring qualified lifeguards, instructors, and all other pool staff; directly supervises lifeguards, instructors, and other aquatic staff.
• Conducts training of staff in water safety, first aid, and CPR; ensures that all certifications of staff are maintained. Ensures high program standards are followed; provides regular in-service training to staff as needed.
• Supervisesandevaluatesassignedstaff,includingtrainingandadvisingstaffofrulesandregulations,properprotocol,andinternalcontrols.
• Schedulesandadministerstheworkofassignedpersonneltoensureaquaticsfacility is properly staffed,includingtrackingtimeandattendance.
• Assists front counter staff with helping customers, taking registrations, memberships, and answering questions related to the center and programs.
• Ensuresthatthe aquaticfacility, including all systems and groundsaremaintainedinacleanandsafecondition with the assistance of the Pool Technician. Maintains proper pool chemical balance.
• Performs regular safety inspections of pools and equipment to reduce hazards and to provide maximum safety to the patrons.
• Coordinatesandoverseestheprocurementof equipmentandmaterialsneededforaquatic facilityandprograms. Ensures warranty of new equipment is evaluated prior to repairs and replacements.
• Maintains recreation management software (Rec Trac) for all swim related activities and events.
• Coordinatesanddevelopsplansforcommunityactivitiesanduseofthe aquatic facility,includingpreparationandmonitoringofrentalagreements.
• Assists with planning and monitoring of budgetforactivities,projects,programsandservices;
• includingpreparingandadministeringgrants.
