General Description

This is an entry level water distribution operator position. Duties include semi‑skilled labor and maintenance support work necessary for the completion of specific tasks performed by the various field crews. Works under the direct supervision of the Distribution Systems Supervisor.

• Operates and assists in the operation of all equipment assigned to the Field Operations Division of the Utilities Department in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists in the installation and repair of water mains and services, meters, water valves and fire hydrants.
• Performs manual labor as required such as digging holes and ditches, grounds keeping and maintenance for all water, and field operations facilities.
• Operates various hand and power tools as well as electric and gas‑powered equipment used for the installation, repair and maintenance of water distribution systems and infrastructure.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as required, including but not limited to operating and maintaining vehicles, tools, اف and other operating equipment.
