Job Posting: JR Temporary Conservation Biologist II (Hatcheries) Production Fisheries Division (Evergreen) (Open)
Responsibilities- Execute the state’s fish production schedule and support development and maintenance of fish production facilities.
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance fish populations through all aspects of fisheries production and management.
- Monitor water quality in production ponds; perform maintenance of equipment; drain and harvest fish from ponds; conduct daily feeding operations; and transport and stock fish into specific public waters.
- Assist with grounds and equipment maintenance, outdoor education programs, and other related responsibilities as assigned.
- Locations include Burwell, Parks, Valentine, Royal, and North Platte.
- Minimum Qualifications: 1 year experience OR 1 year coursework/training in fisheries management, natural resources, biology and/or agriculture.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in wildlife, fisheries, natural resources or biology. Driver's license required.
General knowledge of aquatic ecology, fisheries production and management techniques; good communication and public speaking skills; ability to follow instructions and maintain records; ability to operate hand and power tools.
