RN Critical Care ICU

13 Weeks | 3x12s | Day Shift (5:45a 6p)

Alto Health Care Staffing is seeking a strong ICU RN for a 32-bed Critical Care unit in North Platte. This is a mixed ICU/PCU/Med Surg unit with high-acuity cardiac and medical patients.

• 32 Beds Total

• Ratios:

  • ICU 1:2

  • PCU 1:4

  • Med Surg 1:5

• Charge nurse every shift (minimal patient load)

• RT in-house 24/7

• Hospitalist in-house 24/7 (No intensivist)

• Telemetrymetrymetry tech monitors unit (RNs must read strips)

• Equipment:
  Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, Heated High Flow

Heavy cath lab (coronary/peripheral angiograms & stenting), sepsis, neurosurgery, COPD, CHF, drug & alcohol cases.
Occasional IABP/Impella (typically core staff).

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required

• ICU experience preferred (PCU required if no ICU)

• Must be comfortable titrating drips

• Must be comfortable taking ICU, PCU (1:4), or Med Surg (1:5) assignments when needed

• First-time travelers accepted

• Royal blue scrubs

• Radius Rule:
  Cannot reside in North Platte, NE

Common drips include all critical care drips, Cardizem, insulin, pressors/inotropes, heparin, Lasix, bumex.

• 12-hour shifts (Days)

• Schedule released in 6-week blocks

• Weekend requirement:
  At least every other (may be most weekends)

• Holidays staffed as needed

• No call requirement

• No floating outside of this mixed unit

Orientation:
Hospital orientation (EPIC, skills, expectations) first week + 2 shifts on unit with preceptor.
