Looking for a rewarding and dynamic side gig? Your search ends here! STS Foundation is on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and make a difference through our high school student exchange program.
As a Local Coordinator, you'll support the youth, forge meaningful relationships, and help build lasting connections between high school students, local families, and schools. Your primary mission is to recruit and support volunteer host families and match them with exchange students in your community.
Responsibilities- Recruit and support volunteer host families who wish to open their homes to exchange students.
- Provide guidance, inspiration, and resources to successfully match students with qualified host families and high schools.
- Facilitate and monitor all stages of placement, including orientation, supervision, and validation visits.
- Maintain accurate records in the ExLink Database and comply with reporting deadlines.
- Serve as a mentor to exchange students, fostering mutual understanding and cultural exchange.
- Represent STS Foundation at community events and promote the program.
- Placement Fee: $300 for host family application, placement documents, and school permission; paid by the last day of the reporting month. Fees are reversed if the host family cancels.
- August/January Spring Arrivals: $100 for host family pre‑arrival orientation (must be performed prior to arrival). Payment issued on September 15 or January 15.
- September – First Month of Supervision: $70. Student arrival orientation must be performed within 30 days and paperwork submitted by the reporting month’s end.
- October – December: $70 each month for host family and school contacts submitted by the 15th.
- January – March: $70 each month (same requirements as September). First month of contact for spring students follows the September schedule.
- April – June: $70 each month for required contacts, with final report due by the end of school year as applicable.
- Total Possible Compensation: $1,100, paid until the student leaves or is released from the program.
- Visit Validation: $150 for second home visits scheduled within one to two months of the student’s arrival.
- Change of Placement: $100 for paperwork related to relocating a student to a welcome family. COP fees are not applicable for welcome family placements.
- Applicants must be 25 years of age or older.
