Civil​/Mechanical Superintendent, Solar

Description:
Directs the planning, execution, and testing of new construction power plant commissioning within defined budgets, schedules, and environmental targets.
Directly interacts with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, OEM equipment suppliers, off-taker Utilities, regional transmission system operators, Nextera Plant Operations, and staff organizations to develop a fully integrated commissioning plan and to manage issues as they arise.
Through system turnover walkdowns and execution of Nextera's verification and Validation checks, assures a quality product meeting the project's performance objectives is accepted from the construction contractor(s) in the required sequence, tested, and turned over to Nextera Operations.

Education:
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Relevant Experience: 6 - 10 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.

Responsibilities:
- Lead commissioning efforts for power plant construction projects.
- Develop and execute integrated commissioning plans.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety requirements.
- Provide technical oversight to contractors and commissioning teams.
- Coordinate resolution of operational issues during startup and testing..

Other:
Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning.

Job Description:

To act as the Owner's representative to oversee the civil and structural aspects of the solar plant construction. This position is responsible for ensuring the adherence of the EPC to all Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Performance expectations as defined by the EPC's Scope of Work and contractual commitments.

• Review Safety Documents and Policies
• Review Contract Documents (Scope of work)
• Review Civil/Mechanical Drawings and Specifications
• Review and Ensure SWPPP is installed and Maintained per Permit
• Ensure EPC schedules Pre-Cons for New Tasks
• Review Civil/Mechanical Checklist
• Attend EPC Safety, Craft Tailgates and Management Meetings
• Perform daily field walks and observations with field crews
• Perform QA/QC inspections and walkdowns on construction activities
• Monitor Unifier Uploads by EPC
• Complete QA/QC inspections in Unifier per frequency and activity completion
• Track Open Action Items or Punchlist
