Accounts Payable Clerk

Vernis & Bowling of Palm Beach, an established mid-size law firm with over 56 years of continuous operation, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Payable Clerk. This part-time position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional looking to bring their expertise to a stable, team-oriented environment.

• Invoice Management: Process monthly operating invoices promptly and accurately (e.g., utilities, rent, and vendor payments).
• Payment Processing: Input bi-monthly ACH transactions directly into the firm’s accounting software.
• Trust Account Operations: Process Trust checks upon request, ensuring strict compliance with accounting guidelines.
• Reconciliation: Perform comprehensive monthly reconciliations of bank statements.

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of dedicated bookkeeping or accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Education: An Accounting degree is preferred; however, we welcome candidates who possess strong, verifiable prior bookkeeping experience in lieu of a degree.
• Technical Proficiency: Must demonstrate strong foundational accounting skills and proficiency with PCs, specifically Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Soft Skills: Must possess excellent team-building skills and thrive in a collaborative team setting.
• Pay: Competitive rate, determined based on education and prior experience.
