Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.

This position is eligible for a $1,000 hiring bonus!!

Objective: Provide support to those with developmental disabilities in a person‑centered way. Encourage independence and daily personal growth while assisting with cares and engaging in home and community activities.

Wage: $15.00 per hour.

Schedule: Work anywhere from 8 to 40 hours a week! Includes working at least every other Saturday and Sunday, plus fill‑in and holidays. Possible shifts: 7:00 AM‑3:00 PM, 3:00 PM‑10:00 PM, 12:00 PM‑4:00 PM, or 4:00 PM‑8:00 PM.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care for others in an individualized and meaningful way.
• Assist in personal cares.
• Engage in community activities (e.g., bowling, shopping, watching a movie, exercising).
• Complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and dressing.
• Complete household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance in all communications to HMC, whether written or verbal, external and internal.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
• Prior experience or training is not required, but having experience as a CNA, PCA, caregiver, DSP, or healthcare‑related professional is preferred.
