Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a student to assist in thermal vacuum and space simulation activities as an Engineering Assistant. The selected candidate will play a critical role in helping manage thermal vacuum operations, chamber cleanliness and performance tasks, and report generation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a Utah State University student majoring in science or engineering
  • Must have at least one year of school remaining
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and 30-40 hours per week during the summer
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to follow directions
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently in a time sensitive environment while managing multiple tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated curiosity
  • Must be an active learner
  • General background in math and physics
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting using PPE and following procedures
  • Experience with and proficiency using Excel to generate graphs and manipulate data
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have the ability to work effectively independently
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sophomore level or higher
