The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

• Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service to each Guest.
• Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs.
• Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing knowledge with the Team.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
• Remain consistent on personal sales and contribute to Team presentations using the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
• Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
• Provide legendary service throughout the store in the Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
• Assist Guests with trying on or fitting merchandise and complete checkout and bag purchases.
• Prepare merchandise for alterations and understand exchange and return procedures to turn them into positive experiences.
• Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
• Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty, including fit appointments and Buckle credit card and guest connect.
• Place Special Orders or contact other stores to locate desired merchandise.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet Guest needs.
• Maintain high standards of leadership actions and team spirit, whether or not a Manager is present.

• Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and Teammate recommendations.
• Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred.
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to create a positive floor culture.

• Present merchandise to maximize sales and optimize merchandise turns.
• Stay current on product range.
• Identify product improvements and new product ideas with input from Teammates and Guests.
• Ensure the sales floor is appropriately sized and new freight is displayed.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods based on store needs.
• Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and manage payments and vouchers.
• Watch for security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines.
• Follow all Loss Prevention procedures and POS procedures.
• Perform merchandising tasks such as handling freight, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store and communicate concerns to management.
• Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
• Support mission statement through high-level customer service and teamwork; perform special projects as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
