Position Summary

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for serving guests quality food and beverage following the company’s standard recipes. The Kitchen Supervisor will prepare and cook meats, soups and sauces and supervise all other aspects of the food and beverage operation. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the training of all kitchen staff. The Kitchen Supervisor will work with the Management team on scheduling kitchen staff based on projected attendance and production needs.

The Kitchen Supervisor will oversee the production and delivery of food to concession, picnic and premium locations.

The Kitchen Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00-$20.00

About The Venue

Dickey-Stephens Park (DSP) was built in 2007 and has been a staple in the central Arkansas community since its inception. DSP is located in North Little Rock, just across the Arkansas River from downtown Little Rock. It primarily serves as the home for the Arkansas Travelers (Seattle Mariners AA Affiliate) but also serves as an entertainment venue for dozens of community events throughout the year.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff.
  • Display knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teach others proper preparation and food presentation.
  • Assist in the control of food and labor costs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all locations to assure cleanliness and maintenance meet company standards.
  • Assist with monthly inventory and ordering.
  • Provide high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
  • Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements.
  • Participate as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product.
  • Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking.
  • Portion, arrange and garnish food plates for delivery to guests.
  • Consult with General Manager and Catering Manager to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance as required.
Qualifications
  • Professional culinary training or experience in a fast-paced fine dining restaurant/catering facility; supervisory experience in a kitchen preferred.
  • Ability to supervise kitchen staff.
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife.
  • Effective communication with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to plan and multi-task to meet production needs calmly.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Valid food handling certification if required by state and federal regulations.
