This position is in the AOEM Nuclear Planning and Response Program (NPRP). This position will work under the direction of the Nuclear Planning and Response Branch Manager and perform duties such as maintaining radiological/electronic equipment, operational checks and calibration of all dosimetry equipment, and the maintenance of multiple facilities HVAC units. NPRP has Reception Center Storage Buildings located strategically within the five counties surrounding Arkansas Nuclear One to deploy dosimetry equipment to Radiological Emergency Workers efficiently.

This position will be responsible for the upkeep of these buildings and their HVAC systems. This position will be a member of the State's Radiological Emergency Response Team and may be asked to support emergency response operations such as the Alarm and Notification System (Sirens, radio maintenance, etc.). Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the Arkansas Fire Prevention Codes and how to apply the Fire Codes correctly. This position involves inspecting buildings for fire and life safety violations. Having knowledge of how fire sprinklers systems and fire alarm systems operate. Ability to write reports and inspection forms so that the customer can easily understand. Have good verbal communication skills. Be able to correctly conduct fire and evacuation drills.

The Inspector II works closely with management and operational teams in an attempt to establish a culture of continuous quality assurance and risk mitigation, playing a key role in enhancing organizational efficiency and protecting reputations.

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections and audits of facilities, processes, and operational procedures.
• Identify potential risks, non‑compliance issues, or areas where improvements can be made.
• Compare current practices against internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Evaluate safety measures, quality control systems, and workflow processes to ensure they meet or exceed required standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection and audit reports that clearly outline findings, identified risks, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, corrective measures implemented, and follow‑up evaluations.
• Work with department heads and management to discuss inspection outcomes and develop action plans for addressing areas of concern.
