About the job Construction Superintendent
Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a highly organized and proactive Superintendent (traveling) to join our construction client's team in North Little Rock. This role coordinates activities concerned with Construction projects by performing the following duties personally or through working with the Project Manager assigned to the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leadership Duties- 1) Train new superintendents on field project processes
- 2) Supervise new superintendents in the field for first week of their employment
- 3) Work with Corporate Leaders and Project Managers by suggesting and implementing process improvements relating to project and superintendent duties
- 4) Attend Pre-Construction meeting for any and all projects assigned to you.
- 5) Manage the project with respect to time and budget. Maintain time lines.
- 6) When purchasing anything, use PO# that was given to you by the PMA, or request a PO# from the PMA before purchasing. If you have any questions, contact the PMA first.
- 7) Do not allow subcontractor on the job until they are on the Contact List – their name on the list is your proof that contracts and insurance are in place and work can proceed. The PMA will send you the subcontracts to ensure you have written documentation of the scope of work.
- 8) Responsible for ensuring all safety guidelines are adhered to on job site – this includes employees, subs and visitors to the site.
- 9) Follow tool/equipment check-out procedures. Remember that items designated as rentable will be charged to the job until returned and properly check back in to inventory.
- 10) Send weekly written reports and photos to the Project Manager and copy PMA.
- 11) Maintain a daily log for the project. Use the DAILY LOG REPORT in Computer Ease and email a daily report to Project Manager and Project Manager Assistant.
- 12) Hold weekly safety meetings. Keeps a record of said meeting using the SAFETY MEETING ATTENDANCE FORM. Forward completed form to the Project Manager and copy PMA. The office will forward the safety meeting topics and material on Friday for the meeting to be due back the following Friday.
- 13) Hold weekly 3 Week Look Ahead meetings. Attendees at this meeting should include all sub-contractors and other vendors whose services will be needed within the next three weeks. Include lead times and other pertinent information
- 14) Work as a team with the Project Manager and PMA to resolve any problems and determine any specific needs of the project.
- 15) Maintain work and purchase orders for the project. Copy and/or forward all orders to the Project Manager and copy PMA.
- 16) Responsible for cleanliness of job site – site should be cleaned on a daily basis.
- 17) Send any Owner/Subcontractor change order requests to PM and PMA so they can get pricing. Do not have subs perform any work that has not been approved.
- 18) Responsible for documenting punch list items (forward to PMA). Also responsible for ensuring punch list items completed.
- 19) Post-construction – provide redline plans and as-builds.
- 20) Be courteous and professional at all times
- 1) Timecards must be emailed by 3pm every Friday.
- 2) Must utilize the standard timecard format
- 3) Remember that payroll period ends Saturday so timecards must show Sunday – Saturday hours worked
- 4) MUST list project and suites (if applicable) on timecard.
- 1) Inventory truck monthly and turn in to PMA.
- 2) Keep track of company tools
- 3) Before removing any tools or equipment from warehouse, must check out item(s) with office personnel.
- 4) When returning tools or equipment to warehouse (return area), must check in item(s) with office personnel.
- 5) Report, via email, any lost, damaged or stolen tools to PMA immediately
- 1) Keep vehicle clean (no smoking in vehicle under any circumstances)
- 2) Ensure service vehicle regularly – oil change every 5,000 miles and tire rotation every 10,000 miles
- 3) Lock vehicle when not in use
- 4) Report, via email, any damage to vehicle to President immediately
- 5) Keep vehicle registration and insurance card in provided visor wallet at all times.
