OverviewThe Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus is looking for PRN Staff Physical Therapists or PRN Senior Physical Therapists to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will be assigned to the inpatient orthopedics setting and will be stationed at our new North Liberty Medical Campus.
PositionResponsibilities
- Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patient’s needs. Assignment will primarily be to adult inpatient acute care setting
- Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs
- Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner
- Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality
- Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public
- Performs special projects and tasks as assigned
The department intends to hire one person at either the Physical Therapist or Senior Physical Therapist level based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please specify in your cover letter which specific position for which you wish to be considered or both.
- Staff Physical Therapist
Required Qualifications:- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor’s degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required
- Entry level experience in physical therapy in an inpatient acute care setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required
- 1-3 years experience in Physical Therapy
- 1-3 years experience in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an inpatient acute care setting
- Experience in critical care
- Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting
