Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full‑time certified pharmacy technician.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers in accordance with company policies, laws, regulations and business ethics.
  • Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel. Lead training, coaching and performance management. Make decisions regarding discipline and termination.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve complaints, respond to requests promptly, and answer non‑clinical questions.
  • Build strong relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering services to provide the best experience.
Operations
  • Assist pharmacist in delivering patient care—registration, prescription data entry, preparation, counting, and verification (where law allows). Complete patient and physician calls under supervision.
  • Delegate, direct and assign non‑clinical work in the pharmacy; ensure tasks are completed on time and hold others accountable.
  • Prepare and file reports and records required by company and government agencies.
  • Manage core workflow, coordinate daily schedule, recommend allocation of hours, and maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and adequate supply levels.
  • Execute non‑clinical patient calls; manage inventory preparation and annual inventory processes.
  • Drive new technology and process roll‑out, champion change, and ensure equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Adhere to Walgreen Co. policy on Good Faith Dispensing during prescription-dispensing activities.
  • Apply company asset protection techniques; support diversion monitoring and report concerns.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist and follow company policies and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
  • Process insurance claims accurately, follow up with insurers and providers, and participate in audits.
  • Assist in analyzing pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
  • Manage Community Outreach Portal; coordinate off‑site immunization clinics and community events.
People & Performance Management
  • Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and schedule technicians; hold them accountable for training and timeliness.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and support training via hands‑on or learning modules.
  • Ensure licensure, registration, and certification are active and compliant with regulations.
  • Follow procedures for selection, recruitment, retention, and training per company policy.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintain PTCB certification and required state certification or registration.
  • Enhance current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Obtain necessary certifications and training such as LTMP e‑modules.
  • Seek professional development, solicit constructive feedback, and leverage a mentor or coach.
Communication
  • Communicate with pharmacy team and relay messages from support centers or key emails.
  • Participate in store/pharmacy meetings, including 5‑minute meetings and weekly check‑ins.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except certain locations).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous people management or leadership experience.
  • Previous Walgreens experience with an Exceeding Expectation on the last performance evaluation.

The current salary range for this position is $22.50 per hour – $31.00 per hour. This role will remain open until filled.
