Position: Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 6977)

Overview

Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 6977) – Game Stop, Las Vegas, NV. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture by providing outstanding guest service experiences and sharing product knowledge with guests.

Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
  • Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system; ensure proper changes, bagging, receipts, and top-notch guest service.
  • Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
  • Promote Game Stop benefits (new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty).
  • Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
  • Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
  • Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
  • Schedule store associates, manage breaks/meals, supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels.
  • Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for time worked.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; keep fixtures and equipment in working order.
  • Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipment.
  • Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
  • Support sales, profit, and shrink goal attainment and perform required administrative duties.
  • Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor.
  • Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.
  • Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct merchandise counts and report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
  • Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly per guidelines.
  • Maintain store records and assist with up-to-date manuals.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence.
  • Adhere to all Game Stop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.

Compensation

$14.75 - $18.75
