About the jobThe primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to patients and assist the veterinarian with all duties at our North Vegas emergency care location.
How you'll make a difference- Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity
- Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
- Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
- Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
- Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
- Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment
- Provide professional client communication
- Help keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain client and patient confidentiality
- Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
- Meet or exceed VECC expectations for attendance and punctuality
- Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
- Experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within an ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
- Reliable, organized, and committed to providing high-level care to our patients and clients
- A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun
- Saturday through Monday, swing or overnight shift (subject to change as we grow)
- You will train at our main facility before being transferred to our North location
- Options to pick up shifts at our main location, VE+CC
$25.00 to $34.00/hr
, based on experience. This range includes the swing/overnight differential.
