Overview

Nevada Homeless Alliance is dedicated to uniting efforts and fostering partnerships to address homelessness. Collaborating with federal, state, and local governments, businesses, philanthropists, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and individuals with lived experiences, the Alliance works to advance sustainable solutions. By creating collective action, the organization aims to support and empower communities to tackle homelessness effectively.

This is a full-time on-site role based in North Las Vegas, NV. The Weekend Street Outreach Worker will engage directly with individuals experiencing homelessness to provide support and connect them with essential resources. Daily responsibilities include conducting street-level outreach, providing case management, offering community resource referrals, and working collaboratively with local partners. The role requires establishing trust and fostering effective communication to address client needs and promote stability.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships and engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness
• Experience in social work and case management to provide structured support and help clients access necessary services
• Expertise in community outreach to connect people with local organizations and resources
• Empathy, cultural competence, and an ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of homelessness-related issues, resources, and best practices is an asset
• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, human services, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential
