Position: Principal Database Administrator (Prin Applications Analyst)

Overview

Principal Database Administrator (Prin Applications Analyst) role at Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS).

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive Oracle experience, including the migration of Oracle databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (PAAS). The DBA will be part of a production support team that installs, configures, and upgrades Oracle software across Linux and Windows environments, hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role also supports Oracle R12 e-Business Suite Applications and Microsoft SQL Server in production and non-production environments.

Responsibilities
  • Manage numerous Oracle RDBMS databases and Oracle e-Business Suite Applications on Linux and Windows environments, on-premises and in the Oracle Cloud.
  • Design, plan, and execute database migrations from on-premises environments to the Oracle/Microsoft Cloud.
  • Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Research, plan, recommend, and implement patches, upgrades, and installations for Oracle products, including quarterly CPU patches.
  • Tune database environments to ensure performance and meet service delivery expectations.
  • Participate in resolution of critical and complex design and implementation issues across projects.
  • Ensure business continuity through design, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Administer and manage Oracle Fusion Applications across modules (ERP, HCM, etc.).
  • Maintain OCI tenancy, including compute, networking, storage, identity, and security.
  • Monitor system health and performance using Oracle tools (Oracle Cloud Monitoring, Oracle Management Cloud, and APM).
  • Collaborate with functional teams for system configuration, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Manage Service Requests with Oracle Support and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide mentoring to less experienced DBAs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
  • US Citizenship is required for all positions due to the nature of our work.
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years Oracle experience with strong knowledge of Oracle technology architecture including RAC, Grid Infrastructure, Web Logic, Oracle e-Business Suite, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proven communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities with limited information.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, provide solutions, and communicate clearly to customers and management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to set clear priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 database production environments and resolving issues under pressure.
  • Experience maintaining and patching Microsoft SQL Server; strong shell scripting, PL/SQL, and T-SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of patching, cloning, backup, and recovery of Fusion environments; experience with Oracle Fusion Applications (OFA) and migrating databases to Oracle Cloud is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata and Rubrik backup/recovery software is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and other database technologies (Mongo

    DB, Postgre

    SQL) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Java, J2EE, Web Services (SOAP), HTML, XML, SSL is a plus.
  • Experience maintaining OCI tenancy and related components; willingness to work at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, NV.
  • Work schedule:

    4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, including drug screening, is required in accordance with MSTS policy.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2 and related directives.
