Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is looking for early‑career/recent Engineering graduates to participate in a fast‑paced, exciting opportunity to support our major improvement initiatives. The Infrastructure Early Career Rotational Program provides the rare opportunity to work in four different organizations over a two‑year period with four six‑month rotations. Participants are Regular, Full‑time employees with all associated benefits and expectations. If program completion is successful, the participant will be permanently placed in a position within Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer II rotational assignments may be within any of the Infrastructure Directorates:
    Enterprise Infrastructure Programs (EIP), Project Planning & Delivery (PP&D), Engineering, Construction, Maintenance & Critical Site Infrastructure, and Essential Site Services.
  • Temporary assignments may be outside field of engineering providing expanded company exposure and unique experiences such as:
    • Participate in walk‑downs, generate sketches, help develop conceptual designs, and/or evaluate existing systems.
    • Review engineering documents for constructability during various design reviews.
    • Prepare, review, and approve documents/drawings.
    • Contribute to development of solutions to resolve issues.
    • Work closely with facility leadership, engineering, maintenance, and mission programs to assist in the development of strategic plans and asset management plans.
    • Proactively develop and implement strategies to identify and mitigate project risk.
    • Work with team members and stakeholders having differing needs and expectations to achieve project objectives.
    • Proactively identify program problems, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and propose solutions that resolve challenges and enable continuous improvement.
    • Contribute to and participate in planning and reporting activities.
    • Work alongside engineers/project managers to develop, review, and approve drawings/projects.
    • Coordinate between multiple disciplines (engineering, program, maintenance…) to continue project success.
    • Develop project artifacts and mature a project to be ready for execution.
    • Create/review redlines.
    • Coordinate with vendors to develop quotes.
    • Analyze budgets, scopes and schedules.
  • Contribute to solutions of assignment‑related problems and issues with a limited scope and of basic complexity, using a well‑defined set of technologies.
  • Solutions use established basic standards, practices, and procedures as well as technical knowledge to address problems and complete tasks.
  • Focus is on applying academic knowledge to the work environment and developing good work/team habits.
