Machine Shop Process Analyst

Overview

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking a Machine Shop Process Analyst to join our North Kingstown, RI team!

This semi-skilled position is responsible for creating machine shop routings and work methods within Teamcenter and EWP/ME. This individual must ensure the accuracy of all machine shop paperwork. This role will also support and assist in the Delivery Request process and manage emergent work for the Machine Shop.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create and maintain all machine shop routings for Rev Control and current status
• Coordinate with production planning in managing machine capacity
• Coordinate with programming to make sure all the manufacturing methods are done efficiently
• Support varying tasks and projects based on supervisory direction
• Generate and support of Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Read, interpret and understand technical drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerance callouts
• Research Mil-Spec standards, SP and SSP for the shop

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years Machine Shop experience
• Ability to read blue prints and drawings, comprehensive understanding of GD&T
• Able to lift 50 lbs and climb in enclosed machines
• Available to work any shift per business need
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of Defense

Preferred:

• Understanding of lean manufacturing
• Competency in EWP and Applecore
• CAD Experience

• Strong math and computer skills;

• Self-Directed; ability to work with limited supervision
• Strong communication skills and must be able to work in both a team and individual environment
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex issues
