The Global Director of Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing Hayward’s global engineering strategy for electronic products, including Automation, Controls, Sanitization, and Lighting. Reporting to the Global VP of Engineering, this role leads the Electronics Center of Excellence in North Kingstown, RI, while driving innovation, operational excellence, and talent development across global engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the long-term engineering roadmap aligned with business strategy and market trends.
- Lead global, cross-functional collaboration to standardize processes and accelerate product development.
- Oversee engineering governance, including gated development, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive innovation, product architecture, and platform development to deliver customer value.
- Build and develop high-performing engineering teams and future leaders.
- Ensure financial discipline, risk management, and continuous improvement across engineering initiatives.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure scalable, secure, and robust engineering solutions worldwide.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, including 6+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven success leading global, multifunctional teams and strategic initiatives.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical and corporate objectives.
- Deep expertise in engineering processes, product development, and design-for-X methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; advanced degree and Green/Black Belt certification preferred.
