We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a Section 278 highway works scheme in Thorpe on the Hill. This is a strong opportunity for a capable Site Engineer to secure 6 months’ work on a key highway project with an immediate start available.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering Section 278 highway works tied to a live development interface. The successful Site Engineer will oversee setting out, quality assurance, and coordination of subcontractors to ensure all highway elements are completed safely and in line with local authority standards.
This Site Engineer role requires previous experience delivering S278 highway schemes, with a solid understanding of specifications, permits, and working within an operational highway environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting out and surveying for highway works
* Managing subcontractors on site as Site Engineer
* Ensuring all highway works meet required standards and tolerances
* QA documentation and as-built records
* Liaising with the project team and local highway authority
* Overseeing daily site activities as Site Engineer
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Engineer on Section 278 highway projects
* Strong knowledge of highway construction and specifications
* Competent with GPS and Total Station equipment
* CSCS card
* Ability to start ASAP
