Heritage Oaks Hospital is part of the UHS Family of Providers, serving the greater Sacramento and Northern California mental health system since 1988. We are a fully accredited, 125-bed acute psychiatric hospital offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for substance abuse and chemical dependency issues. We are a Medicare provider with contracts with most commercial health insurance plans.

Heritage Oaks Hospital is currently looking for a Full-Time Outpatient Therapist LCSW/LMFT to join our team. The Therapist provides social work services to help patients meet bio-psychosocial needs, supports therapeutic treatment skills for emotional health, offers basic consultation and teaching, delivers specialized clinical social work services for patients and families, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and provides information and referrals as needed.

• Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, health care team members and community providers regarding patient status and progress.
• Interact and communicate with community agencies in assessment of and service to patients.
• Provide liaison and referral services to community agencies and appear in court when requested or subpoenaed.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy, or related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health care facility with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment skills.

License: Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences required. LCSW/LMFT required.

Additional Requirements: CPR required. Handle With Care training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a department competency exam upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
