About the Role
The Technician will manage all aspects of access control and IP camera systems installed at client sites. Responsibilities include installation, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic devices, power supplies and network components. The Technician must communicate effectively with the Project Manager and present a professional image to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and service Access Control and IP cameras systems according to engineered drawings.
- Program, terminate and commission a wide range of Access Control products and platforms.
- Identify and resolve issues that impact job productivity.
- Complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Communicate activity to the job Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Assist Level I technicians as needed.
- Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company‑provided vehicle.
- Maintain a safe driving record and report incidents or near misses to management immediately.
- Attend required product or safety training.
Experiences & Knowledge
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
- Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control.
- Preferred certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, Exacq.
- Experience installing door hardware (strikes, magnetic locks).
- Experience troubleshooting network switches.
- Reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
- Marking up or “red lining” drawings post‑install.
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with UTI employees and customers.
- Strong work ethic, teamwork, “can do” attitude.
- Self‑starter, quick learner, works under pressure with minimal supervision.
Pay Range
$60,000 – $95,000 USD per year.
