Compensation: $25-30/hour

Position OverviewThe Human Resources Generalist – Benefits & Compliance Focus is responsible for supporting core HR operations with an emphasis on benefits administration, compliance, and employee data management. This role partners closely with leadership, payroll, and external vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and employee-centered HR processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and leave programs
Manage benefits enrollments, changes, terminations, and open enrollment processes
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and issue resolution
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA, wage and hour, etc.)
Support HR audits, reporting, and documentation requirements
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS and benefits data integrity
Assist with unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, and leave administration
Support policy development, updates, and employee communications
Partner with payroll to ensure accurate benefits deductions and compliance
Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
3–6 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR-focused benefits/compliance role
Prior experience with benefits administration and HR compliance required
Nonprofit experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of employment laws and benefits regulations
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Experience with HRIS systems and benefits platforms
