Controller – Position Summary

The Controller will lead the company’s financial operations for a well-established building materials and construction supply organization. This senior, hands‑on leadership position is responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and providing financial insight to support growth and operational decision‑making. The Controller reports directly to the COO and CEO and serves as a key business partner while remaining closely involved in day‑to‑day accounting and finance activities.

• Oversee all accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger, while ensuring timely and accurate monthly and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, strengthen internal controls, and oversee the year‑end audit process.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support leadership decisions, partner with operations on margin improvement and cost control, and drive improvements to systems, processes, and financial reporting.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• Bring 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including prior Controller or senior leadership experience.
• Have a strong understanding of GAAP, cash flow, and working‑capital management, with experience in construction, distribution, manufacturing, or inventory‑based environments preferred.
• Be a hands‑on leader with strong business judgment and communication skills.
