HE Operator - Environmental & Remediation
Western North Dakota (Tioga / Watford City)
Full-Time | Hourly | 40-60 HRS/WEEK | Overtime Expected
What You'll Do
- Safely operate a backhoe on environmental remediation and oilfield projects
- Operate dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, skid steers & more
- Perform trenching, precision excavation, grading, and backfill operations
- Excavate around utilities, pipelines, and existing infrastructure
- Maintain proper trench depth, slope, and compaction
- Load trucks and move material as needed
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Work closely with field crews to meet production and safety goals
- Travel to project sites across Western North Dakota
- Work outdoors daily in heat, cold, wind, mud, snow, and uneven terrain
- Assist with ground labor when required
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of backhoe operating experience required
- Experience working around utilities, pipelines, or environmental excavation sites
- Ability to read grade stakes and follow site plans accurately
- Knowledge of trench safety and excavation best practices
- Must stay alert and aware of surroundings at all times
- Must recognize hazards and operate safely at all times
- Must pay attention to surroundings and work safely
- Must stay focused and aware of people, equipment, and jobsite hazards
- Must maintain constant awareness to prevent accidents
- Valid driver's license with acceptable 5-year MVR
- Reliable transportation to report to the Tioga or Watford City office
- Willingness to work overtime (40-60 hours per week typical)
- Ability to pass drug (urine) and alcohol (breath) screening
Pay & Benefits
- $22.00 - $34.00 per hour (DOE based on skill level and experience)
- 40+ hours per week
- Overtime paid in accordance with federal and North Dakota law
