Overview

We are hiring immediately for a full-time COOK position at Mt Angel Abbey, 1 Abbey Drive, Saint Benedict, OR 97373 (online applications accepted only).

Schedule:

Full-time; days and hours may vary; evenings and weekends included. Pay range: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour. Perks include training and potential referral bonuses.

• Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning; ensure food is at proper temperature, attractive and flavorful; taste all prepared items.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen; store or discard excess food per safe handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized; store food and supplies per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed; assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies; report maintenance needs or accidents to supervisor.
• Attend in-service and safety meetings; maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Follow HACCP standards and ensure proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures; maintain a safe work environment.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the use of protective gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant footwear where applicable.

• Previous culinary and serving experience is preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties with a focus on safety, quality and customer service.
