Pay Info: $5,000 Sign on Available, Relocation Reimbursement Available

40 hour work week. $5.00 differential offered on top of any other differentials for working all shifts that are needed. Needs to be flexible for all shifts.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Considered a member of the nursing team and has responsibility for infection prevention and control policies and PPE use.

Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support. Assists resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment and provides range of motion and passive exercises.

Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.

The NA aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, documents resident interactions and outcomes. Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.

Provides housekeeping, laundry services, wellness and recreational program assistance, encourages resident participation. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of position. CNA training and certification provided by facility.
  • Completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits for each year. 12 hours continuing education required annually. Maintains all required certifications.
  • When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
  • Depending on facility requirements, may classify as Sanford Category II Driver requiring a vehicle report and valid driver's license, and qualification to perform essential driving functions.
