Location: Rugby

The Haaland CNA assists residents with Activities of Daily Living. This multifaceted position involves various responsibilities beyond nursing.

  • Must have a positive attitude towards the elderly and excellent communication skills.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification (training available). A training wage will be provided.
  • Experience is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Safeguard the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in all forms, including electronic, written, or oral.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, including baths, showers, or sponge baths.
  • Provide minimal assistance with ADLs, encouraging independence while offering support as needed.
  • Perform foot soaks and nail care.
  • Monitor hair care and provide shampooing as necessary.
  • Encourage and assist with oral hygiene.
  • Monitor bowel and bladder control, change protective garments, and assist as needed.
  • Assist with dressing and changing soiled clothing to maintain cleanliness and appropriateness.
  • Inspect the resident's environment for cleanliness and safety, including laundry and perishables.
  • Respond promptly to signal lights.
  • Measure and chart vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, and oxygen saturation.
  • Complete assigned nightly and weekly duties.
  • Conduct resident admission orientation and complete checklists.
  • Follow emergency procedures and participate in drills.
  • Administer designated medications per protocol.
  • Assist with packing belongings for discharge or transfer.
  • Help in the dining area with serving and opening containers.
  • Assist with death procedures as needed.
  • Report resident concerns and facility issues to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
  • Operate the intercom system.
  • Supervise and oversee resident health and safety during the night shift.
  • Perform emergency measures per protocol.
  • Consult hospital PCC for guidance on issues beyond CNA scope.
  • Perform laundry and housekeeping duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: A 24-hour staffed care environment with daily contact with physicians, staff, residents, and the community.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Full body motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination are required. Standing and walking for long periods, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and working under stressful or irregular hours are necessary. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials is possible.
