Fertilizer Plant Supervisor

Overview

Plains Grain & Agronomy Cooperative is seeking self-motivated, organized, professional applicants to oversee daily operations of the fertilizer plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting quality, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role involves supervising staff, equipment, and continuous improvement in the plant facility to achieve operational and business goals.

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily plant operations to meet agronomy targets.
• Understand and efficiently operate with liquid and dry fertilizer.
• Monitor production process and optimize plant performance.
• Ensure fertilizer products meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with agronomy manager to manage inventory, price, quantity needs, and delivery timing.
• Coordinates with custom applicators and tanks on the spreading, spraying and delivery of bulk fertilizer to assure the most cost-effective use of equipment.
• Coordinate shutdowns, repairs, and upgrades to minimize downtime.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Implement process improvements and new technologies where applicable.
• Follow safety procedures in maintaining facility and delivery processes.
• Other duties as assigned, in other departments and locations if needed.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• 3-5+ years of experience in agriculture.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent time and employee management with ideal customer service skills.
