Job DescriptionThe Field Generator Technician provides technical expertise as part of a team for the repair and maintenance of natural gas-powered generators and other supporting equipment. The Technician develops, refines, and optimizes maintenance programs to reduce generator fleet costs and maximize reliability. Field Generators technicians develop and document maintenance procedures to maintain the Mesa standard across field offices, enabling a uniform and superior customer service experience.
They collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on product improvements and new product development to maintain Mesa’s leadership in natural gas power generation.
- Performs maintenance services on Mesa units in accordance with the Mesa standard.
- Maintains unit records by thoroughly recording service/repair tasks and parts used.
- Troubleshoots problems and resolves them in a timely manner.
- Provides superior customer service.
- Verifies and ensures Mesa units serviceability by following service checklists.
- Updates professional knowledge through ongoing study of Mesa units.
- Maintains the Mesa standard in all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Performs all duties safely and effectively according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintains clean and organized work environments.
- Transmits information and documents using work computer and phone.
- Maintains professional personal appearance.
- Contributes to a positive team spirit daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Required:
High School or equivalent and mechanical specialty course.
Preferred:
Trade school graduate with engine and mechanical focus. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university.
Experience
Required:
Experience operating 3/4 - 1-ton service trucks; trailer pulling experience.
Preferred: 2-3 years of related experience; honorably discharged service veterans preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

- Proficiency with engine troubleshooting tools including Engine Control Modules and gaseous fuel systems (preferred).
