Location: Garrison

Duties and Tasks

  • Research, prepare, develop, and present accurate informational programs and hands‑on activities to general audiences and special interest groups (i.e. school, scout, youth, adult) surrounding natural sciences, cultural resources, history, and/or recreational opportunities while utilizing a variety of programming materials.
  • Assist with special events, festivals, and outreach programs.
  • Engage with visitors in a friendly and professional manner to enhance their visit and experience.
  • Design educational materials including brochures and social media content.
  • Support park team members with general operations as needed.
  • Because ND State Parks are open 24/7 you may be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Specifically, Successful Candidates Would Be Responsible For

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to clearly communicate instructions, directions, programs, and information to people of all ages, interests, viewpoints, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to conduct nature and/or recreational programs/activities in a variety of terrain, weather, and light settings.
  • Ability to wear a provided uniform.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training or experience in a communication, science, history, education and/or interpretive field
