Profile

Responsibilities and Specific Duties

  • Evidence of a "safetyfirst" attitude
  • One (1) year progressive heavy equipment maintenance preferred
  • Two (2) years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must have computer skills for the ability to repair sub-components of all types of buses.
  • Must have the ability to understand and followschematics.

  • Ability to maintainstrict confidentiality, establishtrust and credibility, and act with complete integrity
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent and able to operate independently with limited supervision (completing assigned workaccurately and in a timely manner)

  • Sound judgement;

    Good problem-solving and analytical skills (troubleshoot technical issues,communicate and document solutions to non-technical parties)

  • Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, coursesor seminars desirable
  • Experience with diagnosticcomputer equipment and software required
  • Must have the ability to learnthe design, maintenance, and adjustments of ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling system, engine, interior/exteriorlighting, gauges and controls, safety equipment, fire suppression systemand sensitive edges, tiresand transmissions
  • Hands on experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Usehand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges,precision instruments, HVAC recovery equipment, as well as power toolssuch as pneumatic wrenches and hydraulic presses in addition to computer programs such as Cummins Insite and Allison DOC.
  • Maintain sand creates records and work history within electronic repair orders.
  • Inspect/ diagnose / repair / replace brake systems, fuel and emission systems,drive lines, steering and suspension systems, passenger heating/coolingsystems, etc. to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
  • Useof in-ground and above-ground hoists as well as portable hoists and hydraulic jacks to raise equipment for inspection and repair.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections and procedures such as changing oil and filters,lubricating steering, suspension and brake components, batterymaintenance, compressed natural gas tank inspections, etc.
  • Testdrive/operate light duty vehicles, trucks, buses and support equipment to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspect, adjust, repair and replace protective guards,loose components, and specified safety devices.
  • Vehiclechassis alignments.
  • Replace,repair, and perform routine maintenance on internal combustion engines toinclude gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel in addition totransmissions and differential units.
  • Repairand adjust seats, doors, and windows, interior and exterior trim and hardware. Install, diagnose and repair/replace vehicle accessories.
  • Emissionrelated diagnosis and repairs.
  • Performsservice calls on vehicles and equipment.
  • Assists in training of lower-level personnel
  • Performsbackfill supervisory duties as required
