- Technician Positions Pay Each Week
- Hourly Pay: $38.00 per hour based on experience
- Retention Bonus: $2000 paid every quarter within the first year
- Schedule:
Flexible 40-hour work week (weekend premiums apply) - Fuel Card and Company Cell Phone provided

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
- Advanced skilled repairs including major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs
- Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Non Commercial Driver License CLASS E preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- Other State driver's license as required
- Four (4) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
- Minimum tools required to perform job duties per Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02
- Able to take home assigned mobile service truck, and secure vehicle and contents
- Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
- Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies
- Complete repair orders with the Company established systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment; self-driven
- Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices
- Preventive Maintenance (PM230 & PM298) within 90 Days
- Brakes-Air (BA220 & BA298) within 90 Days
- Brake mechanics/inspectors FMCS 396.25
- Hydraulic Brake (BH220 & BH298) where appropriate within 90 Days
- Tire & Wheel TW220 within 90 Days
- CF609 & A/C trained and qualified (AC220 & AC298) within 180 Days
- HD electrical - DR208 within 90 Days
- Svc Island Support SBTIII trained (SBT
220) and SBT Phase 2 within 180 Days - Complete 2 OEM On-Line diagnostic tool software courses as required by location fleet mix
- Must pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification for last 3 years
Important Note:
Some positions require additional screening, including employment/education verification; motor vehicle records check; and/or customer-specific requirements.
- Make decisions surrounding vehicle diagnostics and repair
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance, and complex repairs with minimal support
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents; diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
- Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution for roadside breakdowns
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint
- Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, repair estimates, and schedule with customers; road test vehicles to identify causes and ensure quality
- Ensure maintenance records meet corporate, federal, and local requirements
- Operate within Shop Management System and electronic documentation; comply with safety, DOT, and other guidelines
