PIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and replacement, is hiring for a Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in the Charleston, SC area. We are looking for a highly driven and self-sufficient individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. Our most successful Technicians are:

Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required! Each Hose Assembly & Installation Technician is provided complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and how to operate your purpose-built mobile service unit. PIRTEK also provides support through a 24/7 hotline for Technicians to ask technical questions. This is a messy job that requires manual labor and rotating on-call hours (on-call with incentive pay), so dedication and grit are essential – but if you are interested in a stable career with opportunity for growth, where hard work, quality workmanship and loyalty are both appreciated and rewarded, join our team.

• Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards
• Carry out service calls & customer acquisition visits in your local area
• Identify faulty hoses and/or hose assemblies to service the customers’ needs
• Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement
• Ensure oil spills / environmental contaminants, due to hose failure and/or repair, are cleaned or contained to the customer’s satisfaction (as well as federal, state and local regulations)
• Input service details into the online database to create accurate invoices
• Develop relationships with new and existing customers
• Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment
• Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues on-site and conducting frequent follow-up visits
• Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule (with increased incentive pay)
• Perform other related duties as assigned

You will be operating out of a purpose-built mobile service unit – a workshop-van that is outfitted with all the tools and machinery needed to successfully service your local area.

• Territory-based service areas
• Service locations may differ in terrain, noise level, temperature, common amenities available, etc.
• Oil, grease, lubricant, and other “messy” substances are frequently used
• You may be required to travel for training, at no cost to you

• Mechanically inclined – consistent use of hand tools & specialized equipment is required
• Can safely & lawfully drive a large work van
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated & positive attitude through difficult jobs
• Able to work independently and as a team
• Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop from moderate to extended periods
• Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.
• Lift up to 50 pounds

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check & drug screening
• Experience in industrial development & construction, automotive / marine / field mechanics or a related industry is a plus
