PIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose assembly and replacement, is hiring for a Hose Assembly & Installation Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in the Charleston, SC area.

We are looking for a highly driven, self-sufficient individual with real-world mechanical experience and excellent communication and customer service skills to join our growing PIRTEK North Charleston team. Our most successful technicians are:

Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required. Complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes and safety standards is provided.

This is a messy job that requires manual labor and rotating on-call hours (on-call with incentive pay), so dedication and grit are essential – but if you are interested in a stable career with a growing, locally-owned company where hard work, quality workmanship and loyalty are both appreciated and rewarded, we want to hear from you.

• Operate with integrity and take pride in doing quality work
• Carry out service calls and visits to businesses in your local area
• Identify faulty hoses and/or hose assemblies to service the customers’ needs
• Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement
• Input service details into a tablet to create accurate invoices
• Develop close relationships with new and existing customers
• Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment
• Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule (with increased incentive pay)
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Mechanical aptitude – consistent use of hand tools and specialized equipment is required
• Can safely and lawfully drive a large work van
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated and positive attitude through difficult jobs
• Able to work independently and as a team
• Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop for extended periods
• Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Some heavy equipment operating experience is a plus

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Experience in industrial development and construction, automotive/marine/field mechanics or related industries is a plus

Compensation: $21.00 - $31.00 per hour
