Food Service Grill CookASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue). We are looking for a Food Service Grill Cook.
Requirements- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and physical exam
- Must be able to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Must be able to walk, stand, reach, raise arms, and squat for extended periods
- Must have a South Carolina issued REAL US Passport
- Ability to work in both cold and hot environments
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs, unassisted
- Must be able to work quickly in a professional kitchen to include mixing for food service items
- Must be proficient in commercial kitchen equipment accurately checking thermometer readings
- Perform food preparation
- Collaborate with the Executive/Sous Chef and Cooks to prepare meals
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Responsible for food prep areas/kitchen cafeteria cleanup after each shift
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Inspect food preparation, serving areas and ensure safe sanitary food‑handling practices
- Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Clean up station, then label and store leftover food
- Read and follow standardized recipes and directions
- Rotate food inventory as required by established procedures
- Other duties as assigned
1 year or more cooking experience in a professional setting
