Overview

The Quality Control Lab Technician & Operations Associate is responsible for ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance through laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, and operational support. This role supports blending operations by analyzing raw materials and finished goods, maintaining laboratory equipment, managing documentation, and assisting with inventory, logistics, and ERP transactions. This position requires hands-on laboratory work combined with operational responsibilities and cross-location support.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Control & Laboratory Testing
    • Perform quality testing using Viscometers, IR, ICP (Optical Emission Spectrometer), Karl Fischer, Density Meters, and related equipment
    • Analyze daily raw material and finished goods samples
    • Conduct finished product inspections submitted by blending operations
    • Follow established testing protocols and accurately record results
    • Communicate Pass/Fail results and perform retesting of reworked batches
    • Maintain retained samples for each batch blend
  • Equipment & Lab Maintenance
    • Perform equipment calibration, standardization, and preventative maintenance
    • Ensure acceptable performance of all laboratory testing equipment
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant laboratory environment
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate records of all testing and inspections
    • Record and store Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for raw materials and finished goods
    • Report testing results daily
    • Maintain chemical inventories used by the QC lab
  • Operations & Support
    • Perform product return inspections
    • Support testing of new additives, products, and prototypes
    • Maintain ERP transactions related to Quality Control
    • Assist with inventory management, receiving, shipping, logistics, and job costing
    • Support operations across multiple locations as required
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all safety, cleanliness, and quality policies and procedures
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance according to assigned schedules
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Associate's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing laboratory environment
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and quality control practices
  • Experience operating and maintaining analytical lab equipment
  • Attention to detail with strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to commute between locations as required
