Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Nursery.
The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
The nurse will handle patient ratios of 1:6.
Every other weekend availability is required.
There is no on-call requirement but changes may occur based on unit needs.
The nurse may need to float within the women's area of the facility as needed.
Charge nurse experience is required.
Candidates must be comfortable with care from delivery to discharge.
Experience with Level 2 nursery care, including phototherapy, antibiotics, opioid withdrawal, and bubble CPAP, is necessary.
First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
All requested time off must be included at the time of submission.
Approved time off will depend on facility needs.
Candidates should be aware that during certain seasons, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
Candidates should be prepared for potential changes in staffing requirements.
The facility has a total of 27 beds in the nursery.
Patient age groups will primarily include neonates.
The daily census may average around 5 patients.
There will be interdisciplinary support in areas like respiratory services and social services.
Specific patient diagnoses include Level I well newborns post-delivery and Level II newborns, as well as stabilization and transfer of higher level infants.
