Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Assembler - Broetje Operator (Level B or
C) to join the Automation Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable Shift.
In this role you will perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical sub/assemblies using manual and automated processes.
Primary Responsibilities- Primarily operate Broetje automated drilling and fastening equipment.
- Meet educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience (typical 1 year).
- Select and load specified computer programs using a Windows-based system, monitor machine operations and parts quality.
- Initiate machine cycles and monitor run time performance.
- May load and unload assemblies, perform routine operator maintenance, and prepare and upkeep secondary systems (e.g., fastener cassette loading, tool setting).
- Work in the assigned manufacturing production department to perform a variety of manual and automated operations including drilling and fastener installation on detail parts (aluminum/composite/titanium) from electronic models, manufacturing specifications, procedures, and instructions.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed location options. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
Export Control requirements apply. A “U.S. Person” is required as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- Ability to work variable shifts including day, evening, night and weekends.
- 1+ years of experience with the ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems; ability to gather and analyze information; and knowledge of applicable company policies and government regulations.
- 1+ years of experience with Windows-based computer operating systems.
- 1+ years of experience setting up and operating Numerical Control (NC) equipment.
- 1+ year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Education in Automation or robotics manufacturing, NC programming, technical mathematics, electrical/mechanical technology, or related fields.
- 1+ year of aerospace industry experience with drilling and/or fastener installation.
- 1+ year of experience with aircraft structural drawings, machine shop mathematics, machine tool safety, and Boeing standards for fastener hole preparation and installation.
- 1+ year of knowledge of machine set-up procedures, basic CNC operation, automated fastener feed systems, machine surveillance systems, and automated riveting tools.
- 1+ year of basic machine code knowledge.

Shift: This position is on a variable shift (shift
4). Shift assignment is based on business needs at hire and may change.
Pay & Benefits: Boeing offers a Total Rewards package including competitive base pay and variable compensation; health insurance, savings accounts, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations. Summary pay ranges:
Level B: $54,000 - $64,000;
Level C: $61,200 - $64,500.
