This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms machine set‑up, machining, welding set‑up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay‑up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro‑mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Performs soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.
- Ability to work a variable shift.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as flexion and extension, handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling or squatting.
- Ability to carry and lift up to 10‑35 pounds.
- Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
- 3+ months experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
- 3+ months experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications in English.
- 3+ months experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power and/or pneumatic (air) tools.
- Conventional material lay‑up, precision measuring, power, pneumatic and hand tools.
- CNC experience.
- Crane operations experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics and diagrams in aviation.
20‑25 USD hourly
