Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer
Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor for its Charleston, SC location, which functions as a Machining Center of Excellence for aerospace hydraulic pumps. The expected annual salary range is $93,750 – $137,500.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, implement, and monitor all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead internal audit program and AS9100 compliance.
- Manage a team of hourly employees in the quality function, directing work and managing performance.
- Maintain accurate records to comply with company and customer record retention requirements.
- Determine, develop, and monitor inspection and verification techniques to meet design requirements, including new product releases for prototype and production products.
- Coordinate training on MSA, gauge selection and use, GD&T, and special inspection techniques (e.g., flatness measurement).
- Monitor and create action plans to meet key business metrics including productivity, on‑time delivery, first‑pass yield, and cycle time/backlog.
- Develop methods to eliminate quality problems and improve manufacturing process through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, and suppliers.
- Work with internal and external customers to interpret or reach agreement on quality procedures and acceptability of products.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and the implementation of Lean activities to eliminate waste in key processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum four (4) years in quality or manufacturing engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Position requires use of information or hardware subject to ITAR; all applicants must be U.S. persons.
- Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of the facility (active‑duty military exempt) will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical and/or master’s degree.
- Manager of people experience.
- ASQ certification.
- Strong geometric dimensioning and tolerancing background.
- Experience in aerospace products and applications.
- Experience with complex machined materials.
