Manufacturing Supervisor - Service Delivery

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, variable schedule with on-call responsibilities.

What You Need to Know

You will be responsible for the daily operations of the Components Laboratory. Hire and supervise staff. Participate in education and training activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, ARCBS directives and regional policy and procedures and regulations. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures in the work area. Always use applicable protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially infectious blood and body fluids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct daily operations of the Components department.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers including hiring, training, coaching, engaging, evaluating, and disciplining to build a well-qualified team and enhance operational success and compliance. Ensure staff training and competency certification. Prepare work schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for assigned shift. Supervise all work processes and ensure work is performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and regional policies and procedures. Perform supervisory review of documents. Monitor invoices, ensure reconciliation, and timely payment of bills.
  • Supervise good inventory management practices. Analyze routes to ensure cost-effective methods.
  • Ensure quality and quantity of manufacturing and distribution goals are met, including timelines. Maintain accurate electronic and physical inventories for products.
  • Participate in documenting, investigating, troubleshooting, and preventing recurrence of department errors, problems, and customer concerns/complaints. Communicate with Laboratory staff when necessary to resolve problems.
  • Participate in process improvements within area of responsibility. Lead suspect product/sample management processes.
  • May participate in validation of hardware, software, instrumentation, test kits, and procedures. May perform, review, and approve quality control on products, reagents, equipment, and various test kits. Serve as departmental expert on applicable computer systems. Maintain required records and files.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of blood products, supplies, and ability to interact with diverse customers (internal and external). Ability to work on a team.
  • Travel:
    Not required.
  • The combination of education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as total years meet the minimum; management experience cannot be substituted.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Blood Bank or Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is a plus.
