Description
Leidos has an opening for a Secret cleared Systems Engineer in support of the DCGS-N systems engineering efforts in North Charleston, SC. Seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Distributed Common Ground System, Navy (DCGS-N) Family of Systems (FoS). DCGS-N is the Navy's premier Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) processing system. The successful applicant will be a major contributor to intelligence software integration in PMW
120's System Engineering Division. Candidates should possess an administrator-level understanding of n-tier Enterprise applications (DB, app server, and client) architecture/management as well as the capacity to develop detailed installation procedures and/or automation.
Integration, automation, configuration, and documentation of software and tools to support the Infrastructure and Platform Services product team.
Supports software deployments, cloud infrastructure baselines, and operational availability of production systems.
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible, automating provisioning and scaling of resources across environments.
Perform analysis on systems to document all functions and define interfaces for integration, testing and quality assurance.
Manage and optimize Git Lab-based Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including configuration, troubleshooting, and integration with workflows to ensure efficient deployments.
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligible.
10 years' experience (with bachelor’s degree) or 8 years’ experience (with master’s degree) in research, design, testing, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops ) in a professional or academic setting.
Master's or bachelor's degree in quantitative fields such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
3+ years using Dev Sec Ops methods (CI/CD) and tools (Git Lab, Docker); using configuration management principles, tools, and techniques on complex software projects.
Demonstrated expertise in effectively managing Linux-based infrastructure.
Experience with full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. Proficient with utilizing Dev Ops tools for build, deploy, and patch automation (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, BMC, or similar).
Experience/training with VMware.
Experience/training in a Linux, Windows PC, and Windows Server environment.
Experience with administering Windows domains, handling Active Directory services, group policies, user management, and integration with hybrid cloud environments.
Demonstrated experience in container orchestration using Docker, Open Shift, Kubernetes, or AWS EKS/ECS/ECR.
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher.
Ability to travel 25% including possible underway periods aboard U.S. Navy ships.
Experience with Dell Windows servers and Net App storage solutions.
Experience in MS Windows 10/11, Windows Server, VMware (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi), MS Hyper‑V).
Previous experience with U.S. Navy COMPOSE, ISNS, or CANES environments (CANES preferable).
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other highly skilled individuals.
Basic networking experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Technical experience in support of design, testing, deployment, and operations of DCGS-N or other C4
ISR programs.Demonstrated experience with Languages including Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, PHP, and Bash shell scripting.
Active TS/SCI clearance.
