We’re Looking For

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is looking for Associate or Mid-level Manufacturing Engineers (1st shift) to join our Production Engineering organization supporting the 787 Program in North Charleston, SC.

What is Production Engineering?

With over 3,000 dedicated professionals, Boeing Production Engineering (PE) is the heartbeat of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. We oversee every aspect of the aircraft lifecycle—from initial product conception to ongoing customer support. Our mission is to design, deploy, operate, and maintain the production systems that bring Boeing airplanes to life.

Your Role

As part of PE, you’ll be the central hub of activity, collaborating with design teams, manufacturing experts, suppliers, and customers. You’ll help establish the common processes, standards, and procedures that ensure we meet government regulations and stay competitive in the market.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop, identify, and implement conceptual designs while maintaining the program architecture for build.
  • Lead and implement manufacturing plans.
  • Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturing process capability aligns with requirements.
  • Assist in providing producibility information for project plans and document best practices.
  • Analyze design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
  • Resolve technical problems that significantly impact performance, cost, or schedule.
  • Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts.
  • Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
  • Implement lean principles and technologies.
  • This position is for 1st shift.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 2+ years of engineering experience related to the development, selection, and/or revision of parts, materials, and process specifications for production testing, electrical subsystems, aircraft interiors, and other aircraft systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning, including ownership of value stream build plans.
  • Experience with 787 systems, build plans, production testing, electrical installations, and/or aircraft interiors is a plus.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a diverse and demanding work environment and schedule.
