We are seeking skilled Mid-Level or Senior Equipment & Tool Engineers to support fabrication operations across Boeing South Carolina’s North Campus sites (IRCSC, FSCA, PSC, &T & EOSC). This role is part of a cross‑functional tooling and equipment team responsible for designing, analyzing, procuring, modifying, and maintaining equipment and tooling to optimize manufacturing processes.
The primary reporting location will be the IRCSC (9775 Patriot Blvd, Ladson) with 20% travel to Orangeburg and the airport campus. This position is not open to virtual work, as it is a manufacturing‑facing role.
Primary Responsibilities- Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts, and designs solutions for the Production System.
- Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations, and system integration for equipment and tooling.
- Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
- Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
- Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
- Develops and implements work‑arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
- Performs studies and makes recommendations for disposition of assets.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
- 2 or more years’ experience with tooling and equipment design, analysis, modifications and/or reliability.
- Strong problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
- Verbal and written skills, teaming skills, technical skills, and integration skills.
- Be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and electrical/PLC equipment control systems.
- Familiar with CATIA V5 or other CAD software.
- General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning, asset lifecycle management or Boeing procurement processes.
- Familiarity with capital equipment specification, procurement, installation and commissioning.
- Familiarity with composite materials and aircraft interiors manufacturing processes and equipment.

- Mid‑Level: $90,100 – $121,900
- Senior: $110,500 – $149,500
