VoIP Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled VoIP Network Engineer to support the activation, migration, and troubleshooting of VoIP services for Public Sector customers. This role involves coordinating service activities, performing network configurations, and collaborating with various internal and external teams to ensure successful service delivery.
VoIP Network Engineer Responsibilities
Verify order details, perform pre-install testing, and address potential service-impacting issues
Process and validate telephone number ports
Activate new telephone numbers and migrate services between VoIP products
Remove system translations for disconnected services
Lead activation conference calls with customers and vendors
Conduct call traces and troubleshoot routing issues
Collaborate with peer work groups on installations and issue resolution
Escalate issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution
Update workflow systems and maintain detailed engineering documentation
VoIP Network Engineer Qualifications
Strong understanding of telecommunications, especially Voice over IP (VoIP)
Proven experience in customer service and vendor coordination
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Ability to obtain government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and session border controllers
Familiarity with Cisco Broadsoft/Broad Works and Sonus switches
Experience with IP phones, analog gateways, and paging equipment (Polycom, Ribbon, Cisco, Audiocodes)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools
Associate s or Bachelor s degree in a technical field, with at least 1 year of relevant experience
Desired certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
